How many cameras does your event need?

The camera count does not follow your budget. It follows how many moments cannot be repeated.

There is an unwritten rule worth stating: the main moment happens once. A signing, a ribbon cutting, a trophy handover lasts 20 seconds and nobody will re-stage it for you. The second camera is not there to look prettier. It is there so you do not lose that moment when someone walks through the first camera’s frame.

The people listed below are operating technicians hired together with the gear: they run the camera, look after the lighting and guard the kit, working to the direction of your own director or event organiser. CINEFY does not supply a director and does not take on event post-production.

A working day counts 15 hours from the moment the crew arrives. Beyond 15 hours, half a day is added for each 3 hour block. If your event runs from morning stage build to late night, say so in advance so it is priced correctly rather than settled as an extra at the end.

Three sample configurations and indicative budgets

The totals below are added up from the exact price list above, before 8% VAT.

Configuration A: 1 camera, for a panel talk or training class

Sony FX3 full set (2.600.000) + Secced V15 tripod (400.000) + Zoom H6 taking the feed from the sound desk (400.000) + DJI Mic 2 on the speaker (350.000) + Amaran 200X for facial fill (200.000) = 3.950.000đ in equipment, plus one camera technician at 1.000.000đ. Total: 4.950.000đ per day.

Configuration B: 2 cameras, for a conference, signing ceremony or grand opening

2 Sony FX3 full sets (5.200.000) + 2 tripods, Secced V15 and V12 (800.000) + Zoom F6 multi-track recorder (800.000) + Sennheiser G4 wireless (400.000) + DJI Mic 2 (350.000) + Hollyland Solidcom 4S intercom (1.000.000) + Amaran 300C (350.000) = 8.900.000đ in equipment, plus two camera technicians and one keeper at 2.600.000đ. Total: 11.500.000đ per day.

Configuration C: 3 cameras with gimbal and wireless video, for a gala or anniversary night

3 Sony FX3 full sets (7.800.000) + 3 tripods, Secced V15, V12 and Vinten 75mm (1.050.000) + DJI RS4 Pro gimbal (525.000) + Zoom F6 (800.000) + Sennheiser G4 wireless (400.000) + Hollyland Solidcom C1 Hub8S intercom (1.500.000) + Vaxis Storm 500FT+ wireless video (600.000) + Osee Mega 15S monitor for the director (600.000) + Aputure 600D (600.000) = 13.875.000đ in equipment, plus three camera technicians, one camera assistant and one keeper at 4.600.000đ. Show direction, scripting and the recap edit are not inside those numbers. That is the job of the crew or agency you hire. CINEFY covers the equipment and the operating technicians so that crew can do its work.

Five things events keep forgetting

1. The audio feed from the sound desk. A microphone mounted on the camera picks up the loudspeakers bouncing around the hall, which sounds terrible. The correct way is to run a line out of the sound company’s mixer into a recorder, and to clip a wireless mic on the speaker as a backup. The full method is in the audio guide.
2. Communication between cameras. Three operators in three corners of a hall cannot hand-signal each other. Without radios, the wide camera and the close-up camera end up on the same frame and the remaining angle is simply lost.
3. Venue lighting. Stage lighting is designed for the human eye, not for a camera. Guest tables and the reception area are usually far darker than the stage. One or two battery LED panels placed correctly rescue every quick interview and every mingling shot.
4. Batteries, cards and someone to offload. An event runs 8 to 12 hours with no pause to recharge. The crew has to carry batteries for the whole day and offload on site after each block of the programme. CINEFY requires files to be copied and backed up to 2 drives before leaving the venue.
5. Aerial coverage. Grand openings and groundbreakings often want a shot from above. Flying in Da Nang requires a permit in advance, you cannot simply turn up with a drone. See the drone filming guide for the lead time.

Booking event equipment at CINEFY

• Send the event details by hotline or Zalo on 0779 771 234, or by email to [email protected]. Include the date and time, the venue and the run of show so the configuration can be advised properly.
• Lock the equipment list. CINEFY proposes the camera count and the item list against your run of show, and sends a quote broken out line by line so you can see what you are paying for.
• Site visit for any event using 2 cameras or more: camera positions, power and the audio feed from the sound desk.
• A 50% deposit holds the date and the gear. In the busy end-of-year season, book at least 1 to 2 weeks ahead.
• Event day: every item is powered up and checked before it leaves the An Hai store. Collect at the store or have CINEFY deliver to the venue. Hired technicians arrive before doors open to rig the cameras and test the audio line.
• After the programme: return the equipment. If you hired technicians, the original files are copied and backed up to 2 drives on site and handed to your crew. The edit belongs to that crew.

Events in Hoi An or outside the city carry a separate transport charge. Da Nang to Hoi An and back is 1.800.000đ all in, other routes are quoted by distance.

Frequently asked questions

Does CINEFY cover events end-to-end?

No. CINEFY is not an event organiser and does not take on end-to-end event filming. CINEFY supplies filming and livestream equipment (FX3, FX6, intercom, wireless video, audio, lighting) together with operating technicians for the crews and agencies running events in Da Nang. Direction and editing stay with your own crew.

How much does event filming cost in Da Nang?

It depends on the camera count. Adding up the public CINEFY price list: one camera is about 4.950.000đ per day, two cameras about 11.500.000đ per day, three cameras with gimbal and wireless video about 18.475.000đ per day. Before 8% VAT. That is equipment plus operating technicians hired from CINEFY; the direction and editing fees of the crew you hire sit outside this quote.

What if the event only runs in the morning?

Equipment on half-day hire is charged at 70% of the day rate. Crew is still charged per day, because they have to rig before the programme and strike after it.

How far ahead should event equipment be booked?

In the busy end-of-year season, hold the gear 1 to 2 weeks ahead. The scarcer items go first: the FX6, multi-headset intercom systems and director monitors. Motorola radios are always in stock in quantity.

Do you issue invoices for companies?

Yes. CINEFY is a registered company and issues full VAT invoices. Every price in this article is before 8% VAT.

Can we rent equipment only and shoot with our own crew?
